The last time I paid a visit to the quiet Portuguese restaurant in 8th Avenue, PJ, I didn’t bring my camera along. It was one of our #teampork outings, see here for more.

Anyway this time round, I decided to ask Pei Yi, Jessica, Ee Leen and Brian to join in for the Pork Burger quest!

Cristang is located in a fairly quiet area called 8th Avenue near Hilton PJ. If you ask me, I actually thought 8th Avenue was rather dead, since many shops are still not opened there yet, the last time I visited the place in June the place looked the same! For an awesome place that houses awesome PORK dishes to be located in 8th Avenue, to be honest if not for Aaron Kee and some blog recommendations, I wouldn’t have known of the place back then.

For specific directions to Cristang, kindly click here!

If you scout around the blogs, they will surely recommend the P1-P7 Pork burgers served here. Of course now they’ve added P8 and P9 to the menu, which are tandoori and korean kimchi flavour. P7, dubbed the Urban Legend is the so called best pork burger there, but it might differ according to personal preference, because that one has petai in it!

Brian and I went for P3, which has bacon, cheese and PORK chili con carne as the fillings. The girls, perhaps abit not so adventurous, chose P2, which has only bacon and cheese.

The P3 Pork Burger. RM23.80

The potato wedges that came with it, are not side dishes added just for decorations. The owner of Cristang actually gave them some great marinating and baking perhaps. They were DELICIOUS! Perfect add-on to the mouth watering burgers I would say.

Fresh Lemonade. RM6.80

I was being generous today, so I decided to order something different. I saw that they serve lemonade on the menu, hence decided to give it a try. This lemonade, WOW! Definitely not your ordinary lemonade which tasted like soft drink mixed with lemon. The lemonade here is so KAO, I actually love it. Though Brian said it tasted like ENO, after feeling ‘conned’ into ordering it, since he never saw the price.

Perhaps only one thing I wish to clarify in this blog post, if you happen to stumble upon this post seeking information about Cristang, the 20% discount every wednesday on all Pork Burgers have been discontinued!! The blog posts that show up on your google search probably didn’t update that piece of information.

Discount or not, I believe Cristang pork burgers are worth giving a try, if you’re a pork lover like me.

Man, they should pay me for this! Haha!

A brief update.

A new phase of life will begin next Monday. Hopefully I am done with studies once and for all

For starters, I really hope I am still able to update this little column of mine in Coffeestops, its been a bittersweet journey with all the authors with only lovely memories to be remembered.

This week being the last week I can live my life as a… hmm, student? It sure did made me reminisced on the past. However, that being said, I’m absolutely looking forward to working life. Not so much so of having my own income, but more of another step forward to independence.

The bird that used to be so small has started to spread its wings and ready to leave its nest. More challenges will come, definitely, but I’ll learn to place my focus on God, as He is the only one that can bring me through anything in life.

Joshua 1:9 – Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

With this, a new chapter in life unfolds.

So I’ve experienced the MSLS for the first time. I must say, that it was a totally enriching experience! Other than it being boring for a few sessions, the highlights of the event really made it worth attending.

Then again, I wouldn’t be able to make comparisons as I missed the last MSLS, of which I forgot to register for it, but made sure I made it this time round.

For those who have never heard of the MSLS, its a forum organised annually by the UKEC, known as the United Kingdom and Eire Council for Malaysian Students since 2007 when the summit first kicked off. Political leaders/big shots, business leaders, young entrepreneurs are the usual speakers on the list, where students sign up for the forum to come together to discuss national issues or rather, have a better understanding on what issues that are currently facing the nation.

Sounds boring to some of you? Well then, its time you fine tune yourself to have more concern for your beloved country. but well, I guess thats inevitable, I don’t wanna be ‘accused’ of trying to force my ideology on others when all I did was just ask of people to be more concerned for whats going on in their country. *shrugs* Meh.

Anyway, for an event which was free, yes, free. It means you don’t have to pay a single cent to attend, all you need to do is register. So for an event which was free, there were huge loads of freebies that were distributed though. Got a 4GB thumb drive among the freebies too. Hey, I was suppose to make a trip down to the upcoming PC Fair for one, gah I am cheap, sue me.

The 4th MSLS was held in Nikko Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. I think it has been held there for the past 3 years as well. This year’s summit featured some of the nation’s political powerhouses, ie. Tengku Razaleigh, the Deputy PM YAB Muhyiddin Yassin, Tony Pua, Dato Sri Mustapa Mohamed, Ibrahim Ali, Khairy Jamaluddin, Khalid Samad and of course the Home Minister, Dato Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein.

For those who were following me on Twitter, or even have me as a friend on Facebook would have had a rough idea of what happened throughout the summit.

Probably the main highlight of the event was the topic of whether does politics of ideology trump that of race, which featured a three-way-debate between Ibrahim Ali, whom we heard enough of from all the PERKASA hype, Khairy Jamaluddin, who represent the ruling coalition and also UMNO Youth, and lastly Khalid Samad, being a representative of the opposition Pakatan Rakyat and also of PAS. If you own a Mkini account, its updated there already. If you don’t, you can always view it on the Malaysian Insider.

I was actually planning on just attending the 1st day, since I’ve got photography duties in church on Sunday so I thought might as well skip the 2nd day. It was this session particularly that led to my change of mind on Saturday evening, true enough I was glad I never missed it live.

One of the few things I really like about the MSLS is that, it provides a very good avenue for networking. Not to mention the many intellectual conversations that I really enjoyed having with some of them. One of them even asked me about Coffeestops, haha oh boy was I surprised.

Thanks for reading, if you still do read.

So all in all, now that the 4th MSLS is over, I’ve kinda had nothing much to look forward to.

Oh wait, have I updated you guys that I will most likely start working on the 16th of August? Fellow authors, I’ve (almost) secured a job offer!! Just pending a medical check-up which is due on Tuesday.

You could say I’m looking forward to work for various reasons, but then again its only human nature to say I would be missing the times of bumming around. Hmm, never satisfied with life eh?

I certainly hope I will be available for the 5th MSLS next year though, if the workload allows for such day offs during the weekend, haha. Well till then, I guess now I gotta shift my focus to career building.

Wish me luck, guys.

This could possibly be the last time I get to attend the College Camp by IMPACT. You’ll never know what might happen in the future, but one thing’s certain, is that I’m not growing younger by the day, soon I’ll take the leap of faith into the working world and, yeap never know where that will lead ya.

Anyway, I really really thank God for the opportunity to co-organize the College Camp with Ren Yau and Rachel. Truth to be told, Rachel and I were last minute additions. While I was informed briefly by Pastor Sue to assist Ren Yau in organising the camp, I didn’t know there was much work to be done as I thought it was similar to the Kampar camp 2 years back.

I remembered we were pretty backdated in the camp preparations when we had to think throughly about what theme to use for the College Camp this year. Ren Yau and I had to dig deep into our ‘thinking box’, and with the wisdom of the Holy Spirit we manage to stumble upon 1 Timothy 6:12, which talks about fighting the good fight of faith. Hence, we decided to adopt the verse and themed the camp Go The Distance.

It was pretty suitable, now that I think back. HAHA! Going the distance in food, hmm.

The venue was El Sanctuary, Alor Gajah. None of us had been to the place before, that includes the adults that went along. We had to rely on information from those who had been to the place before, and the reviews we got were all pretty good. Of course, they were proven to be true as we totally love the place!

We had a bungalow to ourselves. We were initially supposed to be taking the chalets located around, but some other bunch beat us to it and the people at El Sanctuary allocated the bungalow for us, of course for a higher fee. Thank God we were later than the previous bunch! Having the bungalow made life so much easier for the camp committee! I couldn’t have imagined how I could play my game on the 2nd night if we had no personal hall to use.

Awesome accomodation, it got the boys dorms and the girls dorms with 35 beds each. Superb! Hey its even better with only 15 of us staying in for 2 nights. Haha!

Planning the Rescue Mission on the 1st day, was a total last minute thing. Ren Yau was cracking his head as to how to do the ice breaker, since we have Melody whose from FGA KL joining us, and also the twins who were always very quiet. With no idea how El Sanctuary look like before the trip, we just had to cross our fingers hoping the terrain would suit the different stations we planned just that morning itself before leaving for Alor Gajah.

Eggs and flour, anyone? We drafted a story about how the 3 of us (camp committees) got separated and kidnapped while camping, and the campers need to solve 3 different tasks to unite us back together again. When the 3 of us got back together, we made each team ‘dig’ for treasures, which were actually mentos sweets from a bowl covered with flour. The catch? They didn’t know there was a 2nd layer. Hahaha, this was totally Ren Yau’s mischievious idea!

So what they saw were just flour on the top surface, while Rachel had previously mixed flour, eggs and some water and dumped in some mentos sweets at the bottom surface. Totally wicked!

The group picture above was the results of their quest!

We also brought along a guitar and a keyboard for Praise & Worship purposes.

The other best thing about this camp was that we actually get to watch the World Cup in HD! Haha, the owners have Astro B.yond over at the cafe area, so we decided to hit the place for the Brazil vs Portugal match.

It wasn’t an exciting match, many of them were doing everything else but watching football in the end. Ee Leen was busy with the iPad the whole night long!

We spent the whole of Saturday in Malacca town. If you had read my previous post, you would have been enlightened on our agenda for the day. Eat, eat, eat and eat! We did get to have some sight seeing around town of course.

We had also taken quite a bit of group pictures here and there, good thing Ren Yau was there to handle my camera or I would have definitely missed out on being part of the group shots!

Yours truly, Kevin and Ji Ern in pork satay shop.

After a fulfilling (not so fulfilling as we were pressed for time!) trip in Malacca town, we headed back to El Sanctuary for shower and dinner. Did I mention the food prepared by El Sanctuary were awesome? I didn’t? Okay so now I’m telling you. Haha! Awesome homecooked food, too bad I didn’t manage to take photos of any of it.

The agenda for Saturday night was the game I had planned for weeks, with ideas sought from Lydia, and the game turned out to be quite successful. Hmm, it might get a replay over at one of IMPACT meetings as well. Ngek ngek!

Oh well, Ren Yau and I had to do a brief demo, and both of us ended up blushing like mad. Oh well, wheres the fun and laughters without some added spice? At least it cracked everyone up! Good times indeed.

Jonathan’s team was simply amazing, they could fit 3 persons into that tiny hula hoop! And I thought the hoop was small enough to not make them so greedy hahaha! I shall leave you readers to ponder about it without revealing too much information regarding the game, since it might be having a replay in IMPACT. Wouldn’t wanna spoil the surprise now, would I?

As usual, happy times passed by amazingly quick. After Sunday Service on the last day, we presented thank you gifts to Pastor Sue, Aunty Irin and Uncle Stephen for watching over us, not to mention driving us around. It gotta be really exhausting, but we were all glad they were willing to sacrifice for us.

The Camp committees with (From left) Uncle Stephen, Aunty Irin and Pastor Sue.

With heavy hearts, we ended the camp in prayers and close the session with a complete group photograph consisting of all the campers of IMPACT College Camp 2010.

IMPACT College Camp 2010 Group Photo #2.

You are probably wondering who took the picture. :p Don’t panic, there was certainly nothing supernatural, haha! We managed to make use of a stand to do a timed shot.

So it came to an end, the College Camp for 2010. We spent the afternoon in Malacca town again for some unfinished business, and then made our way to Seremban to meet up with Datuk Roland Wong for dinner. After that, it was a longgg and tiring journey back home to FGA USJ.

You know, the truth about camps is, they bond people together. Likewise, I strongly believed the ties between each college-going youths were strengthened throughout the course of the camp while we did activities together, eat together, watch the World Cup together and even slept together (I mean, in the same dorm!). It was definitely fun while it lasted. I personally had much memories to cherish and to keep for a lifetime!

That being said, I miss College Camp 2010 already. Lets all continue rocking on for Jesus!

P/S – You can view more photos of the camp here.

Recently, if you guys have been following my Twitter, or had known me personally would have been aware that I was away for a 3 days 2 nights camp in El Sanctuary, Alor Gajah.

While the camp was a successful one with many memories well cherished and kept for a lifetime, the time spent in Malacca eating especially was an exceptional experience. The theme for our camp was Go The Distance, and boy oh boy, we definitely went the distance in eating. HAHA!

Our main highlights were of course the famous Chicken Rice Balls, which were only found in Malacca. Not to mention the infamous Satay Babi, or Pork Satay. While Satay Celup was the other main attraction, sadly we didn’t had the opportunity to try it out (oh well, that leaves an excuse for another trip down south!). We also had the opportunity to try out the Durian Cendol at Tan Kim Hock, which of course didn’t come cheap at all. >.<

On Saturday itself, we devoted the whole day to travel around Malacca. Of which we did paid a visit to Christ Church Malacca, where the concentration of tourists were, and also to the famous Fort A Famosa, but that’s a story for another day.

We visited Heng Hainanese Chicken Rice Ball for lunch, which apparently according to Ding Yan, was one of the best chicken rice balls around town. Forgot where it was as I wasn’t the driver!

Tasty Chicken Rice Balls.

They were actually quite small though, we could easily stuff one whole ball into our mouths, not to mention there was a little mutual competition going on at my table to see who can eat the most balls!

Vegetable dish.

Wasn’t too fancy about this, those who know me would know why haha! There weren’t any complaints regarding it anyway.

Yummy Steam Chicken.

The steam chicken was great, juicy and tender! Though somehow I still prefer the steam chickens I had in Kee Kee Bentong, but hey no complaints, Kee Kee Bentong’s back in Kelana Jaya and I was in Malacca!

Mouth-Watering Roast Chicken.

I loved the roast chicken!! Many times I would prefer the steam chicken over the roasted ones, but not on Saturday. The roast chicken over at Heng was surprisingly delicious, it had no burnt taste and whatsoever. It was kinda roasted to perfection that sorta feeling, you know what I’m saying? This dish, a must have.

We also ordered the Black Beans Soup, which was recommended by Heng. It’s not cheap, RM3 per bowl. I can’t take beans, so I never touched my soup, or rather, it was taken back. Hopefully it got deducted out of the bill!

I wrote on my Twitter, Saturday was Get Fat Day. We were eating so much so that we didn’t have enough time to digest!! We hit the Pork Satay right after a short walk over at Dataran Pahlawan Megamall. I actually can’t recall what was the name of the shop we had our pork satays but it was pork, and thats what matters.

Infamous PORK satay.

While it tasted heavenly, I gotta say though, they were actually quite small as compared to normal chicken satays we have around, all the more so if compared to Kajang satays which were generally bigger. Nevertheless, it was pork and we were deeply satisfied, despite just having some heavy lunch there. To non-pork lovers, HOW CAN YOU NOT LIKE PORK?!

We decided to head back to El Sanctuary and resume our food expedition the next day, since it was nearing dinner time at El Sanctuary by then. Did I mention Saturday was Get Fat Day? Back at El Sanctuary, they prepared Spaghetti for dinner. Bliss!

After checking out on Sunday, we head back to Malacca town, this time to try out the durian cendol. We dropped by Tan Kim Hock for the said item. RM5 per bowl *whistles*, not cheap not cheap!! Definitely once in a lifetime thing if you ask me.

Overpriced Durian Cendol.

Nothing too special about it, only that they added durian paste on top of the ice shavings, with added sea coconut of course. The rest of the ingredients are still pretty much the same, cendol and red beans. Unnecessary costs were perhaps spent on that special orange holders that came along with it.

We passed by this stall by the road side which was selling Coconut Milk Shakes with lines that might take forever to shorten, didn’t decide to stop for it, but kinda regretting it now since I heard from another friend after I came back to Subang, that it was actually pretty famous there!

Instead, we stopped by this fruit stall which was located beside the place where the state government might wanna develop it into some kind of Malacca Gold Coast thing. DURIAN FEAST! No, they are not Malaccan food, but hey we’re Malaysians, who doesn’t like durians?!

That concludes our Malaccan food expedition, coupled up with breakfast, lunch and dinner served over at El Sanctuary, and dinner over at Seremban on Sunday night, all campers agreed we couldn’t stop eating. Best part of the camp was that, it was actually filled with both physical and spiritual food!

The only regrets of the trip were probably that we never got to taste Satay Celup and that Coconut Milk Shake thing, but hey Malacca isn’t very far away!

Well, I definitely had fun. Now I better think of dieting again.

Crossroads. I’ve reached yet another crossroad in my life, hmm.

You know.. I still haven’t digested the fact that this is IT, that I’m finally done with studies. Since day one of CAT, I’ve been looking forward to this day every semester as I completed a few sets of papers. Now that I’m finally here… it suddenly gives me that feeling of ‘whats next?’.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to boast about my newfound freedom. Heck I haven’t been THIS free before, not even after my SPM, I immediately started CAT in January mind you. Never ever I was able to enjoy a month long of holidays before, the ‘next’ semester was always occupying whats worth of that 2-3 weeks break (I don’t even call it a holiday) after the finals for each semester.

Not that I’m not finally relieved of it either. I’m totally overjoyed by the fact that I was able to finish the journey on a happy note, and a confident one whatnot, but I shall not be too overconfident as He is able to convert a pass to a fail just as easy as from a fail to a pass, quoted from Pei Yi’s. August 23rd, the day of reckoning. I shall wait patiently then.

I still can’t get used to the idea that my life is gonna change totally in a few months time. I don’t know if you’re supposed to feel all so matured when you join the working world or not, but I still feel the same. I mean, if you were to ask me to begin my career tomorrow, I would still feel the same as of today. So its like, I can’t actually get used to the fact that, I will be working in a few months time. How can time passed so quickly?

I had a chat with Jian Wei in the evening, alot has changed. We’ve changed. We are no longer the teenagers we were so used to be. I’ve changed, for sure. I just feel so.. heavy hearted to leave the old me behind, I just miss the old times you know.

You know initially I viewed Coffeestops as a mere blog, in which I think most of us do too, but over the years, it grew into something much more. I no longer view Coffeestops as a blog, but more of an identity. It is an identity that the 9 of us shared, it is a mark in our personal history that we can relate to others in the future, it is something that belonged.. to us.

As of now, I won’t be able to make guarantees that I will update Coffeestops as frequent as I used to, heck I wasn’t even updating anything till the previous post. I really don’t know what will happen in the future, where I will be working, how busy I will be, but there is always something I will always remember. That, I am an author of Coffeestops.

I really look forward to a day, when we are all successful in our own ways, and then we come together for a gathering. It will be awesome. I am actually looking forward to that Epic Reunion thing Christopher created on Facebook, so you authors who are reading, please do make yourself available! Irna, Wei Ling, Sarven, I really don’t know if you still read Coffeestops or not, since neither of you bothered to comment on my previous post nor did any of you posted anything since Coffeestops 2.0 was introduced, but I just want you all to know, we’re a family.

I shall stop my thoughts here. Wish me luck in my future undertakings! Heh.

Yes, yes, I’m pretty guilty for not updating Coffeestops ever since it was back in business, was busy stealing coffee from another coffee shop (oops!). Haha, anyway that being said, I guess I should update my fellow Coffeestoppers, or any readers remaining, about my current welfare.

Seriously, is it just me, or does OurCoffeestops load much slower now? o.O or simply just Streamyx sucks. -.-”

Anyway, this would be a part picture, part journal update, so don’t get confused with the paragraph structure.

My finals is like 5 days away, and most definitely my absence can only be explained by the ongoing rigorous NERDING session (as Ying Wei would put it) as I prepare for my final two Professional papers in my ACCA journey. So yea, the end is nigh. VERY near indeed.

For the record, I am only able to update this post because I had Neslo with my family at 12am in Sri Melur and now I couldn’t sleep. -.-”

If you were wondering where I have been, I had my share of party moments too! This was during Sue and Billy’s surprise birthday BBQ party! Sue was so touched I swear I saw her shed tears! Haha, good times, indeed.

I have mixed feelings regarding the end of the line, honestly. 3.5years have been a bumpy ride, which was filled with joy and sorrows which made it hard to bid farewell to this long journey. Really, at one end I really hope to end it soon, but on the other end, this is really one part of my life I will deeply miss.

But oh well, life’s like a box of chocolates, you really never gonna know what you’re gonna get.

I never liked farewells. The day when Ding Yan bade farewell to almost everyone he knew in the period of his Sunway tenure before returning back to Malacca, his home town, marking the last time he would ever need to set foot onto Sunway University College left me pondering.

Everyone would soon set sail onto their respective paths.

Taken during Lisa’s belated birthday party in Souled Out Cafe in Desa Sri Hartamas. The food there cost a fortune, but the get-together was a worthwhile outing!

Would I be able to see everyone again? Well chances are if you’re working in Malaysia, one or two, or perhaps three or four will end up in the same firm you are attached to. What I meant here is, the closeness and the bond that we all forged over the period of our studies. I just can’t help but felt a tinge of sadness, as I too bidded farewell to the guy who totally turned my life upside down last semester. Not to sound gay, but seriously he changed me a whole lot. I could stand and say to you, I am no longer the Nicholas 2 semesters ago. For that, I sincerely thank Ding Yan.

Soon, I have no idea would I be seeing people like Melody, Sue, Lydia, Serng, Billy, Lisa, Wei Ping or even Pei Yi that often. What more not to mention the new bunch of friends that I’ve made over the past 3 months, in which I found so much joy with them, people like Aaron Kee, Jian Qin, Jonathan, Richard Teoh, haha even Madeline as well, whom I wasn’t so close to during my tenure in SAC.

Sure, everyone is just a few kilometres away, but to meet and see each other again everyday like how things used to be is pretty much impossible. Sigh~ bear with me, I tend to get emotional at wee hours like this.

Oh oh, did I mentioned I got hooked on pool recently? Haha okay random.

The new SAC bunch has been fun! I was quite fortunate to be able to help out in two of its events, and hence was invited for this awesome dinner held at the Sun and Surf Cafe in Sunway Resort Hotel.

So yeaaa.. soon, I’ll be joining the working world. Perhaps in 2 or 3 months or so? I am actually quite excited about the prospect, but God knows would I even have time for my social life then! Haha. I’m not even sure would I have the time for yumchas! Actually its not that bad. I hope. *fingers crossed* Be it for PricewaterhouseCoopers, KPMG, Ernst and Young, Deloitte or any other Professional Services firms, I hope this new experience will be a good one. I’m sure He will watch over me, always.

So anyway, speaking of my fellow authors. I really haven’t seen ALL of you for quite some time. Ying Wei is exceptional, I see him everyday I got bored of his face. I actually have no idea how Irna is doing in Singapore, I don’t see her online. Wait maybe its the other way round -.-”, I too hadn’t seen Wei Ling, Kok Kuan or Sarven in ages. Not to mention the authors who are currently abroad, Chris, Jian Wei and Yao Siang. How are you guys doing? Do really miss all of you loads. Drop a comment at this post if any of you happen to be reading!

Haha, if any of you wondered, I’m still pretty much single. Any candidates applying? Haha, I am just joking. This relationship thing, is a dilemma. Pei Yi mentioned once, although said by Kay Sim himself, that finding a girlfriend in the Audit line, is something which is ‘either you get one before you start working, or never’. I mean, seriously man! What is that supposed to mean?! Its okay. I believe I have plenty of choices when I start work as Audit firms are >60% populated with the female gender. Muahahaha! Erkhem.

Not to forget the recently held Parents’ Appreciation Night by IMPACT! I was pretty blurred as to the planning process as I had two weeks of continuous revision classes, but good thing I was able to be part of it! So glad my family was able to attend the event that night!

Pretty soon. Pretty soon, I will graduate. I want to graduate. Some may not know, but I am actually racing against time here. Part of the reasons why I want (have) to graduate by this June 2010 examination sitting is because I made a promise with my grandfather back in Sandakan, Sabah. He sounded pretty ill and was pretty much feeling that life was meaningless till I gave him a reason to continue living. I made a promise to graduate and invite him to attend my graduation this coming October. I really want to make him proud if its thats the last thing he will remember on earth before he return to the Lord, as he too has high hopes on me.

Right, the final run to the finish line. You bet I would give it my best! So people, hopefully by August 23rd, all you would hear from me, is good news.

Hmm, and for now I shall continue to wonder, what lies ahead?

If you’re an avid follower of my Twitter profile, I’m sure you would wonder the WIN Club we have been advocating. Haha, its the state of mentality that drives the best outta you! To know more of my daily updates, do follow me at my twitter!

P/S To my fellow companions, we shall march forth to victory, and see you guys on graduation. LET’S ROAR!

P/P/S

Added just to make Ms. Tian happy. Taken during Andrea’s graduation brunch, a friend once said we looked like husband and wife. HAHA! What do you think? and no, we’re not together.

I believe this particular coffee shop looks familiar to most of you, thats assuming majority of you readers are from USJ. Anyway, even if you’re not, my fellow author, Christopher has blogged about this place before, which was about his Char Siew Rice! Let me refresh your memory.

I so happened to decide to have my breakfast with my parents at this coffee shop on a Sunday morning after church, after hearing much about the curry laksa at the place.

To illustrate its popularity, when I first stepped into the coffee shop, I could actually spot at least a bowl of curry laksa on every table. So I sat down with the parents, and ordered a bowl of curry laksa, which cost only RM4.50. Thats the price for the ‘small’ portion though, the ‘big’ one cost around RM5?

Anyway, I was taken aback by the portion.

It was huge. Then again, the soup seems to be the one filling up the bowl rather than the noodles!

No complains for the laksa though, it was tasty and the soup makes you wanting for more! (MSG?) The chicken that came along with it were tender and blended well with the curry. Of course there was a mini plate of sambal for you spicy lovers if you wish to add some more flavour into it!

You can also choose the noodles of your preference to go with the soup, I had mee hoon + kuey teow! I know its a weird combo, but I love the fact the mee hoon absorbs the curry to make it more flavourful and at the same time I like kuey teow, so why not have the best of both worlds? Try it, you might end up liking it too!

So for you USJ peeps, if you’re around the corner, drop by and give the curry laksa a try! Its easily noticeable in the coffee shop itself.

Where’s Restoran MeiSek again? It’s along USJ 14/1K.

Lisa Khoo is a Valentines baby.

Considering the fact Valentines day and the 1st day of Chinese New Year were on the same day this year, we have decided to postponed her birthday celebration until much later.

On the 27th of February, a total of 10 of us made our way to Souled Out Cafe & Bar in Desa Sri Hartamas to celebrate her 21st birthday.

This, is the <s>infamous</s> Lisa Khoo. HAHA! Never fail to have all sorts of funny and weird poses for the camera! Like seriously, its like her trademark LOL!

Food was great, no complains at all, albeit abit pricey, but what do you expect? We’re eating in Souled Out. Haha, though I must compliment the portion of the food, they’re huge for the price we pay!

See what I mean? LOL!

Anyway, if you’re wondering whether we brought the funny hat and glasses, no its not from us. The management of Souled Out forced them on Lisa! HAHA! Guess its like TGIF, Souled Out too had its own style of making birthday celebrations memorable.

Like this, it was taken and processed all within 15 minutes!

I was actually quite amazed by the efficiency. I’m not joking! Call me jakun, okay. Haha!

Of course I have a better quality one taken using my D40. =P

So, Lisa, hopefully you did enjoy your belated 21st birthday celebration, despite the mishap at the end of the day. =P Hahaha. Well, it IS memorable in a way. LOL!

Happy belated 21st, once again!
