Rise to Power

On the 14th of July, a bunch of form 4s ousted (well actually succeeded ) the form 5 prefects. Usually, Mr. Ang Jian Wei would write a post about it but I guess he is too busy enjoying himself in Oxford – or maybe not. If you ain’t in Oxford… have fun still fat boy Hope I didn’t steal your spotlight (if you intended to write a post). On the other hand, I just had the urge to write since there hasn’t been any coffee from a while!

It has been 5 years since the event. I wonder whether it is still a major significance in our lives. Perhaps, we should also ask ourselves whether we should even make it a point to remember the day. Personally, I didn’t thought of it until I looked at my old hand phone. It read “Upcoming Events : 14/7 The day we took over the Prefect Board”. Wow, I must’ve been some kinda freak/weirdo to event have that in my reminders! If I’m not mistaken, I had that inserted into the database during the first or second anniversary of our “takeover”. Also, it was Mr. Ang Jian Wei who reminded me about those dates too.

You must be getting nauseated with his name already (Ang Jian Wei). He’s single and available by the way (I think).

So, what do I think after all these years? The date and the event doesn’t really mean much to me anymore (Sorry Mr. Ang Jian Wei!). I believe what’s more important is the timespan between the two dates – the date we stepped up and stepped down. The ups and downs of working together as a team and also friends. I somewhat had a pretty short stint (some of my peers were already AJKs much earlier) as an AJK member but I definitely have learned a bit or two.

In the future, I would no longer remember the dates but cherish the moments instead. It’ll definitely be one of the stories told to my children and grand children. We sure did have a bang, comrades!

P/S : I can’t write interestingly like Jian Wei.. but what the heck.. ahhaah..!
