Better not Bitter

Daily Ramblings — By on June 15, 2010 at 12:35 AM

Sighs.

That’s my trademark word.

For those who are alien to me, I’m another MIA author that’s still stuck in the small town named Kampar. And whose freaking foolish picture got uploaded by fellow author, Irna Jumahat just recently =_=

I don’t think I’ve shared with the authors (except my Banana friend) on my University life. So, this post is a little bit about what’s been going on for the past few years.

At this point, my focus is on the Final Year Project (I tremble upon hearing this 3 words =d), several society activities and my studies. Sighs. There’s already not much youth left in me. And the FYP is absorbing the bits and pieces too…

Hmmm…

It hasn’t been an easy ride for me in UTAR (Though many think that everything’s going on smoothly for me). As most of my University mates are Chinese educated, I was exposed to a whole new different culture. Being a banana, it wasn’t easy to blend in with the crowd without fear of offending anyone and making mistakes. But that’s solved with time, and I’m pretty sociable now, lols.

Anyway, my 1st year of studies was in PJ so, things weren’t that bad. I was still in my comfort zone in Subang. Irna, Sarven, Chris etc were all still around. Though we don’t see each other everyday but their presence was just as comforting.

It all started when I moved to Kampar. After 18 years of being pampered by my parents, I had to be independent then. By the way, I still hand wash all my clothes until now (while the rest sends it for laundry XD).

Yes, some will say that I’m still in Malaysia. Bla bla bla… So why whine so much? But still, I was the 1st to leave the group and the feeling isn’t good.

3 years back, Irna asked me if I cried during the 1st week in Kampar. The answer’s obviously NO. I mean, what’s there’s to cry about right? I miss my parents so, I call them. I miss my Banana friend, I text her. No tears were shed because of this (No offense Irna =D).

Still, being away from the rest made me felt disconnected at 1 point. Hmmm… Writing this really brings back bad memories.

Yup, disconnected. I was losing a group of close friends and hmmm… The feeling is awful.

Erm, I’m getting carried away. No more emotional stuff.

Okay, back to business, in the 1st year, I ran for the President post during the main campus’ 1st ever student elections. The results? HAHA, I lost by 200 votes approximately. Darn. I daresay that I lost because of lack of popularity and not because of lack of capability.

But I got over it and along with some friends, we formed the MK Club. The authors call it the Mortal Kombat Club XD. But it’s not; MK stands for Marketing and not Mortal Kombat over here.

I’m still chairing this Club, but will soon have to give way to the juniors to manage it. The club may not be as active as some other high profile clubs but I’m proud to say that we’ve attempted various activities that some other clubs failed to take notice of.

That’s about my CCA and social life. In terms of studies, well… I’ve been doing pretty well. I did not disappoint myself and my parents. Haha, that’s all I can say.

Everyone will face difficulties in life, but it’s to make us better, not bitter. I know it’s easier said than done but learning is a life-long process so, it takes time for us to learn from our mistakes and make better things out of it.

Aaaaarrrr, walking down the memory lane sucks. Brings back both good and mostly bad memories.

Anyway, my best wishes to:

  • Christopher Ho, who’s exams begins tomorrow…
  • Nicholas Wong, who’s unofficially graduated from ACCA; May you excel in your future undertakings…
  • Irna Jumahat, who’s really busy with her society’s programs; she’s got 4 months break and she’s only back in Subang for 2 weeks or less!!!
  • SYW, who’s stress out over the last paper of his course.
  • The rest of the authors, on whatever they pursue in life XD

Not to forget, a complimentary picture of my best friend, hehehe…

Over and out!
