Welcome to My life! [Epi. 1]

CoffeeSnoops — By on August 7, 2009 at 12:00 AM

For the next few posts of CoffeeSnoops, I’m gonna write to you readers, about my life as an ACCA student in Sunway University College, my social circles, the ups and the downs, basically my encounters, throughout the whole of my ACCA student journey.

Walk with me, down my memory lane, as I once again take a look at where I began, and how I ended up the person I am today. In a short span of 3 years.

Just let me begin by first thanking the crew for coming up with the idea of OurCoffeestops. It has definitely become something that I hold onto dearly! Thanks, guys for always having my back!

Anyway, you know, sometimes life is so funny they play mind tricks on you. I don’t know about the rest, but for those who knows me well, its actually pretty clear I value friendship really much and held onto them as hard as I could. But shit can happen, I lost some here and there, however throughout all the endeavours, I can’t say I didn’t learn a thing or two about life.

How funny can life be, huh? I mean, you and I can be best friends at one moment, sharing whatever crap, studies, games, outings, and then the next minute everything just vanished.

Anyway, my life so far, hasn’t been a smooth sailing. A little bit of ups and downs here and there, pretty much happens to everyone aite. Not everyday is Sunday, or so they say.

————————————————————————————————————————————-

I still remember the days when I just started CAT. The innocent young child, has just begun his college life. How naive can one get, I don’t know, you tell me haha!

Days back then were rather carefree, I mean I had Jian Wei and Ee Leen in class, we were sharing lots of good times together, we carpool-ed, we sat together, we discussed craps, we joked, etc. Then we met a whole bunch of nice people, whom we all became close to. Friends like Andrea, Edmund, Kay Sim, Chin Yip, Jun Xiong, Jacqueline, Natalie, Ashrina, Andie. I mean I really cherished them really much. There was also Philip the super class rep. Edgar, Corey, Jason and bunch. Group 3 was our class name, and I honestly thought we were the coolest bunch among the other 3 classes. =p

You can’t blame me when my class decided to throw a party especially for Valentines Day, courtesy of one lecturer, Ms. Geetha who has now become my official best friend in terms of lecturer-student wise. We talked about lots of stuffs, and of course we share our personal life details too. =)

Jian Wei was our mascot for the day, sash courtesy of Andrea! And of course, thats our beloved lecturer, Ms. Geetha.

Well, thats Group 3 for you! Well, being Jian Wei, he’s always at the centre of the attention, thats why we all revolved around him LOL!

————————————————————————————————————————————-

The magical moments of Valentines. *sigh* Yea the year of 2007 so happened to be the year I first handed out a Valentines gift to a girl. The so called girl of my dreams, haha oh the naivity of me~

I went all the way to her house to drop the gifts and a confession card in her postbox at midnight, so the next morning she would be surprised to find it there, hopefully before she goes to school.

… and I got turned down. Haha pretty heart stabbing moment now that I thought of it, especially after I found out the reason why.

Now don’t go asking me who that girl was okay?! Haha!

————————————————————————————————————————————-

I wonder if the Coffeestops crew remembered this particular moment? Christopher was studying in Inti College back then, and he invited a bunch of us over to his college for a Valentines celebration.

We had a gay valentines. Since everyone who went had a batang! WTF right?!

————————————————————————————————————————————-

It was only 3 months into the semester, one would think most groups might not be able to bond yet. It was Edmund’s birthday on the 6th of March, guess what he invited the college lot to his celebration too! Of course there were some who can’t make it, but well at least some of us still turned up, despite knowing the large pack of people there were gonna be his high school mates.

One thing about Edmund, he’s my first ‘heng tai’ I got to know in college. So yea for a fair bit of time, I always hung out with him. Edmund’s the one in the middle back row. Now he’s going to fly off to UK too to further his studies in ACCA. Aih, guess everyone’s flying~!

————————————————————————————————————————————-

Soon, it was time to collect our SPM results! It was an anxious moment indeed, but thank God all of us did well. I can’t say I was entirely satisfied with mine, but 8As with 7A1s out of it was particularly okay I guess for what’s done is done~!

Viva la Form 5 Twelveans of 2006!

————————————————————————————————————————————-

I even joined my first ever team race. It was the annual Amazing G-Race, sounds familiar? Yea, it was modeled after the Amazing Race! Being teammates with Corey, Philip and Ashrina was pure fun! Although we didn’t win it, but it was something I could add to my ‘done’ list in college!

————————————————————————————————————————————-

If some of you Twelveans are reading this, remember Pn. Cheah’s retirement? =) Yea I went back to school on a week day morning with Jian Wei, only to rush for class in our formal wear after that!

If you’re wondering, its not Pn. Cheah Li Pieng, she’s still young and has lots of years to go! XD

This Pn. Cheah used to teach me english back in high school. Oh boy, she was a really kind teacher. When I was in Form 3, she was my NiE advisor too, whom never failed to provide us any forms of assistance, including transportation w00t! Though we might have failed her in winning the NiE, but I can see that we enjoyed the whole process.

Pn. Cheah is a great person altogether! I wonder, how is she doing now? =)

————————————————————————————————————————————-

I remember it was Jian Wei’s last class with us, so happened it was Ms. Wong’s class. She taught us T5 management paper during our CAT days. Ms. Wong is also my lecturer now for P3 Business Analysis!

————————————————————————————————————————————-

Soon, 2nd semester of CAT came, and my bunch grew. Some dropped off along the way due to the fact they failed some papers, which is actually really sad.

We merged with the Group 2 bunch, which so happened to house the wackos I grew to love hanging out with. Guys like Chun Hoe, Kang Wei, Ivan, James, Jonathan, Hong Khai, Philip, Ming Ting, Wai Yin, etc.

Of course, Jian Wei had already left for INTEC, since he was awarded the Bank Negara scholarship for Actuarial Science, so I was basically left to fend for myself. It was just Ee Leen and I, still sticking together for that short period, since we were still car-pooling. Well, life was fair to me I guess, I was really enjoying my 2nd semester.

Ying Wei, the buddy had also transferred himself from Inti to Sunway for the ACCA course, which made him my junior at the time since well he was 6 months later than me into the course. Also made a few new friends, friends whom I grew really close to for at least the next 6 months. Friends like, Jessica Chiang and Tian Pei Yi, Michelle Ng, etc. I can really say, my college life has been fruitful.

————————————————————————————————————————————-

There was also our Moral Studies presentation, in which Jun Xiong, Edmund, Kay Sim and I are a team. We did a presentation on Discrimination in general, things like Gender, Marital, Height discrimation were our topics presented.

Not only that, we were required to do community service as part of our project marks. Lucky for us, it wasn’t just the four of us! We get to do it with a total of 10 of us. So along with Chun Hoe, Andrea, Ee Leen, Jacqueline, Aruna, Tzyy Jia, Eric, Jia Xuan and the rest I couldn’t remember their names (aiks!), we paid a visit to Philea Home in Klang!

————————————————————————————————————————————-

Classes with the bunch was a hell of a fun. Days were never dry, especially with lecturer like Ms. Joyce as our Audit lecturer, wow she made class so interesting that I fell in love with her the subject!

These were taken on the last day of our revision class with Ms. Joyce, our class was combined with Group 1! Well when two different bunch of wackos come together, you can expect havoc to break out!

Please don’t ask me what I was doing. It was purely peer pressure! LOL!

There was also Mr. Jana, our T6 lecturer, whose a natural joker, everything that comes out from his mouth seemed to make us laugh those days. We even had a Formal-Wear Day during his revision classes.

Everyone looked good, obviously! It was also on the day we formed the Association of Posers Certified Accountants (APCA).

The first five associates, Jun Xiong, Yours truly, Jacqueline, Edgar and Edmund. Lame, I know, but that was life back then! We do crazy stuffs! =D

————————————————————————————————————————————-

There was also the constant revision we all shared in the library. Being ACCA students, the nerd culture is a must if you wanna pass your exams! However, being us, the nerd culture is the new cool. This was how we used to study in the library!

Yes, since we all stayed back in the library till it closes, the emptiness allowed us to play cards! XD To top that all up, this was our form of punishment to those who lost.

LOL! Don’t worry, we were not bullying her alone, the rest including myself had gone through the same punishment!

————————————————————————————————————————————-

Then I remembered somewhere in the month of October, we were all invited back to attend our Twelveans Prefects Annual Dinner, since all of us were prefects from high school.

Picture courtesy of Christopher! It was fun to see everyone back again =D

————————————————————————————————————————————-

I remember back before the idea of OurCoffeestops was realised, Jian Wei, Chris, Ying Wei, Kok Kuan, Irna, Wei Ling and Sarven used to have what we called as The Jiwang Session™. Yao Siang wasn’t always free, thats why he hardly joined us, besides given the distance he stayed, it would be abit troublesome for him to come along.

Whats The Jiwang Session™ you asked? It’s loosely translated as our weekly Ramly Burger session. w00t!

Hey, the Ramly burger in USJ4 is THAT good okay! Its that good that we became their regular customers, and the boss even recognises us whenever we go for our jiwang session! LOL!

Obviously being us, The Jiwang Session™ wasn’t limited to just burger eating. There were lots of crazy stuffs we did in the field nearby while eating our burgers. Stuffs like posing, filming music video with Sarven SINGING! LOLWUT! And there was the emo session where we poured our thoughts out about things we encountered in life.

One best example of Sarven’s infamous music video as shown below.

WTFLMAO RIGHT?! Don’t remind me man, anyway it was damn fun hanging out back then, especially with Sarven, who doesn’t mind doing shit like above! w00t! Three cheers for Sarven Shan!

Well, what else can you say about us, huh? xD Ever since Jian Wei left for the United States, Yao Siang left for the United Kingdom, Sarven started working, Wei Ling isolated herself in Kampar, and Irna returned to Singapore, and Kok Kuan who refused to drive into USJ since he stays in Bandar Sunway, our jiwang sessions have reduced significantly, due to the fact there were only three batangs left, namely Chris, Ying Wei and I. Tarak syok mah!

————————————————————————————————————————————-

We had our 2nd finals, which was the last semester of CAT. After that, Jonathan, our class rep then took the effort to organise a class trip to Sungkai Hot Springs! Nais~!

Then again, I am going stop writing for now, since the post is getting rather lengthy, no worries the story of my life will resumed in the next update! So, stay tuned people~!

P/S – I even got myself a DSLR, which I’m still using now, at the end of 2007! Since I was basically called ‘The Photographer’ among my friends, life really started back then, after the acquisition of the Nikon D40.
