THe fallen didn't do anything for the thousands of years megatron was frozen in ice because Optimus was still alive, only Optimus finally died did the fallen do anything. The Egyptians didn't build the death machine it was brought here by the fallen, in the beginning of the movie you can see that the fallen didn't treat the humans very well, i doubt ancient egyptians had the technology to destroy a giant piece of super advanced robot machinary, so instead the spent many years covering it up probably because they didn't want the aliens to return, thats one explanation. the geography of the movie is off with real life, although, we also dont have giant aliens here either. Watch the cartoons, 'Alice" (shia's college hottie) is a pretender, its another type of transformer - wikipedia.
