J. Co’s Fat-Free Yogurt

J. Co is synonymous with donuts and coffee – so what’s up with the yogurt? How has a non related foodstuff make its way to the menu? There is no official answer to that but I suppose that J. Co is diversifying to survive the competition with the likes of Big Apple (not to forget the good ol’ Dunkin Donuts).

The yogurt is called J.Cool – fat free (though the World Health Organization, WHO has permitted retailers to claim food as fat free when the fat content is less than 0.5% of the food content) and available with a variety of fruit topping to choose from! The more toppings you have, the more expensive it gets! You might enjoy it more with more toppings though! My personal opinion, the yogurt tastes best even without the fruit toppings. The freshness of the fruits are questionable too. Oh wait, did I forget to mention that the fruits are soaked in glucose syrup (if you are going for fat free food for health reasons, then you will definitely want to cut the sugar intake too!)?

For this review, we’re going for broke! The most expensive combination on the menu! There is a choice of single, couple or shared and also the number of toppings. Common sense, the larger the yogurt serving, the more expensive it will get. The yogurt above has five toppings (cherry, mango, passion fruit, almond and kiwi) and is the shared type. As described before, the toppings are nothing to shout about. If I were to eat another bowl of J.Cool I would very well go without the toppings! The yogurt has a sweet and sour taste to it (I wonder how much sugar went into it). Awesome!

The damage? RM 14.05 (don’t forget that the yogurt was shared!) only. A small price to pay to spend quality time with friends and your loved one(s). I give it a 4/5.
