Kambing Bumbu

Kambing Bumbu? What on earth is Bumbu!!

Bumbu? What is that? If you would like to know the meaning of it, I’d guess you have to ask an Indonesian. Even years of the Malay language education didn’t equip me with the knowledge to answer the question. I don’t think Bumbu is a Malay word. Must be Indonesian. However, tasting Kambing Bumbu is definitely not a problem. Just make your way to the nearest Ole-Ole Bali restaurant!

The Kambing Bumbu comes with nasi briyani, vegetables, mutton (of course!) and some condiments. Oh, don’t forget the banana leaves at the bottom! No, you can’t eat them (you can if you want to but I wont be responsible!) but it seems that the banana leaves act as oil absorbents. There you have it health freaks! Reduced health hazards!

The nasi briyani tastes good, the mutton tastes good, the whole lot tastes good! Perhaps you might want to order another bowl of rice as a side order. People with big appetite like me would not be satiated (if and only if rice makes you full!). Oh, try not to scrape the banana leaves with your forks or you might have a hint of cellulose in your food!

A serving of Kambing Bumbu would blow a RM 26 hole in your wallet. Definitely not something you would eat daily for lunch or dinner. For special occasions or when you’re feeling rich, give the Kambing Bumbu a try!

I give it a 5/5.

Mr Ho, this page loads rather fast now… surprisingly. Btw, you should try the lemongrass mojito too. I gave it a 5/5. It’s refreshing and unique.

Shirley, alright. I think it was due to the internet connection ( streamyx ). Our connection to international servers are always bad. Yeah, I will try it one day. Thanks for the recommendation!

  • Generally I don’t read post on blogs, however I wish to say that this write-up very compelled me to check out and do so! Your writing taste has been surprised me. Thank you, quite great article.
