Youth Leadership Academy (YLA) Malaysia

It’s been a very long time since I last posted. *smiles*

Well, I just want to inform you guys that I’ve been accepted as a member of the Youth Leadership Academy (YLA) which is organized by McKinsey and Co.

McKinsey and Co. is a worldwide management consulting firm that focuses on solving issues of concern to senior management. Besides that, it serves as an advisor to the world’s leading businesses, governments and institutions. It is not only widely recognized as a leader and one of the most prestigious firms in the management consulting industry, it has also been ranked No. 1 for 6 consecutive years in the Vault.com list of top consulting firms (From: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McKinsey).

YLA is a program dedicated to nurturing and to building capabilities of future young leaders. This is so that we have the opportunity to improve our leadership skills and form mentoring relationships with young professionals and senior business leaders.

Basically, after my application was approved, I had to undertake an interview. However, because of my final examination, I opt for the phone interview. It lasted about 20 minutes per interviewer (I had 2 interviewers) and my phone was all heated up after that =d

Anyway, I am glad that I got accepted. This is an opportunity to learn from Malaysia’s very own successful leaders and professionals. I’m definitely looking forward to meeting the members, speakers, mentors etc on the 1^st workshop on the 13^th of June.

Oh, not to forget that this is the last week of my semester break and I’ll be going back to Kampar pretty soon. Sighs, time passed so fast. Anyway, Irna and I are now helping out in school (SMK USJ 12). We’ll update you guys on what’s going on within these few days.
