Secret Recipe’s Chocolate Strawberry Cake

A slice of Chocolate Strawberry cake
Initially wanted to try Secret Recipe’s Durian Cheesecake at their SS15 branch. However, it wasn’t in stock. Was told that it would be available tomorrow. Since we were already there, might as well have something to eat. It was a good thing actually, as each of us got to taste different cakes.
Having a sweet tooth, I decided to try out the Chocolate Strawberry cake. I am not very fussy about food so I can’t really make a big fuss ( or rather critique it ). A few things to point out, the top layer of the cake had a gelatin layer which gave it a weird taste. Besides that, the mixture of the strawberry and chocolate flavours also gave a funky taste. In short, the strawberry is better off without the chocolate and vice versa. Although both strawberry and chocolate don’t mix well together, the cake tasted better bite after bite. Maybe it is all about acquiring the taste for the mix?
The cake went off at RM 6.30 before taxes. I wouldn’t say that is wasn’t worth the money but I won’t be having the cake for a long time. I still want my Durian Cheesecake! Cheers!
