How To Increase Platelet Count?

Health — By Kok Kuan on March 11, 2009 at 12:46 AM

Dear readers,

As mentioned in my previous post, my sister’s platelet count dropped to the critical zone a few weeks ago and it went up to a stable condition. However her latest blood test results recently showed that it had dropped to 76 which is not a good sign at all.

If anyone knows or have heard of any ways to increase the platelet count, please leave your suggestion or comment here. No matter whether it is a home remedy or medication, all are welcomed.

Thanks for everything, your suggestion and comments will be appreciated.

Thank you.

Thanks Christopher and all others who have given very valuable information on Dengue fever, My sister in law is affected by Dengue and now admited to hospital and she also has blood sugar (136).
    1) Please let me know what is the quantity and frequency does she has to consume papaya leaves juice.
    2) If Dengue affects diabetic patient, does the platlets count will increase immediately or will react slowly.

    Thank you

Another information to add, my sister-in-law’s platlets count is 42. The count is fluctuating from 28 to 50 and now its 42

    Dear Janardhan,

Take ONLY the GREEN part of the leaves (remove the veins which are yellow in colour). A single leaf should suffice, and make sure you add some water too. Don’t forget to sieve it too! =]

I am not a doctor so I can’t really help you on your second question. However, from my experience with the leaves, my platelet count takes a day or so to show and increase. I am not diabetic though. =]

    Thank you.

    Thanks Christopher

Janardhan, usually people will have honey include in the papaya leaves mixture, but since your sister-in-law has diabetic, in my own opinion honey is 99% not advisable.

    Take care.

Try Homeopathic medicine “SEPIA 30″. You can get it in liquid form. Try 5 drops 3 times a day for 4 days then 3 drops 3 times a day. Check platelets after 4 days and that should show you the result if it is improving or not. This is safe for diabetics.

    Regard,
