面粉糕 (Mian Fen Gao) at Taman Mayang

Restoran Mee Mayang at Taman Mayang
For those who might not have heard the word mian fen gao, you might remember pan min. They are the same, just that the former is the Mandarin name for it while the latter is Cantonese. I shall refer to this food as mian fen gao in this post.

The stall that makes them
If you are a fan of mian fen gao, you definitely have to visit this particular stall in Taman Mayang. It’s located near the St. Igantius Catholic Church along the LDP. If you’re coming from the LDP, as you see the church and the peculiar LRT support beam in the middle of the road, turn left into the residential area. As you go down the road (not very far down) you will see new shop lots on your left. The restaurant is there.

Mian Fen Gao
What is so different about this mian fen gao? I am not a professional food critic but the most noticeable thing about it is that the noodle pieces are very smooth and soft. They are also thin. As for the other ingredients, I guess they are just the same as how other shops do them. The bowl I ate cost RM 4.00. I am not sure whether it is the big or small portion. Go try it out! You won’t regret it!
P/S – Seems that the person running the stall ( only the mian fen gao stall ) will be shifting location to Alam Suria. Heard that it is somewhere nearby.

Someone’s getting the hang of analyzing in detail the texture and flavour of food ! =P
And yes, some pan mee/ noodles just taste like a clump of flour dunked in salted chicken stock water (lousy soup).
RM4 is a reasonable deal! Perhaps you should treat all your readers to a meal of Mian Fen Gao! =D
