The Vampire’s Delicacy.
CoffeeSnoops — By Irna on November 25, 2008 at 1:40 PMThere’s a blood donation drive going on in my college and the committee in charge are up and about urging people to donate for the past couple of weeks.
Whenever I was approached, my typical answer will be, “Haha. Bye bye!”
Mind you, I do not have any phobia with either needles or blood.
(Which reminds me the irony on whenever I heard any girls saying they are afraid of blood or will faint at just the sight of it. I do pity them, as, if thats the case, they will be spending a quarter of every month unconscious.)
I just somewhat, somehow, one way or another, freaked out at the idea of having my blood flowing in other people’s veins.
So, I am a little mean.
Just a little.
Anyway, its the last week of our semester and the attendance had been rather pathetic with many already on their self declared holidays.
Me : “You entering all the classes today?”
Amanda : “Think so. But gonna cabut halfway through Bio. Donating blood!!”
The prospect of sitting in the rather empty and freezing bio lab for 2 whole hours is well enough to bring out the humanity in me!
And that leads me hurriedly filling up the blood donation form.
With Nigel Gui who blurry ticked the column indicating that he is pregnant and currently breast feeding!!
Blood pressure taken.
Finger pricked.
Blood sample drawn.
AB blood type. (Perfect excuse for my self-absorbness. Its in the DNA!)
The episode ended with the lady saying,
“I am sorry. You can’t donate today. Your Hb level count is low. Better luck next time.”
Feeling puzzled, I blurted out, “Luck? What luck? Aren’t I lucky enough now?”
Man.. I really should learn how to keep my mouth shut.
