Penang
This is a scheduled post. I am currently at Pulau Langkawi with my friends. (Remember the hint given by Chris, about the “giant eagle statue as a landmark”? )
So yea, I was in the Penang Island from 21st to 23rd of June. It was a trip organised by my college mates. Most people called it the “class-trip”, something most people will have after they have graduated. Some prefer to have it during the semester breaks though. Usually the main reason to have the trip is to “have a good time” with your other friends as we will say goodbye to each other after that and not going to meet each other in future or in a long time. Okay, enough of those nonsense. I have no idea what I just typed.
This Penang Trip was a last minute plan by my college mates. Before the trip, we can’t make up our mind on the place to go as not everyone is flexible with all places. Eg, someone suggested to go to Taman Negara but the girls are afraid to go into the jungle. After many discussions, we came out with a conclusion to visit Penang.
We travelled to Penang by bus. The journey took around 4-5 hours. There was a total of 10 people in the trip (9 boys and 1 girl). Yea, don’t ask me what happen to the other girls, I have no idea. We rented an apartment located at Batu Ferringgi near to a beach at a very cheap price. There was 3 rooms in the apartment. On the first day, we spent our time walking around the beach. At night, we had our dinner at “The Ship” a.k.a. very expensive place.
On the 2nd day, we rented a van with a driver. We toured around the Penang Island. We went to the Fruits Farm and tasted the local food. At the Fruits Farm, we paid RM 25 per person as the entrance fee to discover many kinds of fruits tree. Nothing really special there actually. We got to taste the fruit after the tour though. Next, we went to have the famous Assam Laksa near Kek Lok Si temple. The tour guide also brought us to buy the famous Tao Sah Pneah (no idea how to spell it) and white coffee.
At night, we enjoyed our dinner at Gurney Drive. After dinner, we went back to the apartment. After getting bored of playing cards at night, 10 of us decided to play games at the cyber cafe near to our apartment. Yea, the shopkeeper was shocked when 10 of us just walked in to the shop and asked for 10 computers. We played DotA and Warlocks. It was really interesting and most of us enjoyed ourselves.
On the last day, we woke up late as we stayed up late the night before. We had our breakfast at KFC because we can’t find any other better place to go. After our breakfast, we went to cyber cafe again as it was still early. Our bus will only leave Penang at 4pm and the van will pick us up at 2pm. It was only 12pm that time. We divided ourselves into 2 teams and started defeating each other in Warlocks. I really enjoy playing Warlocks! Then, we went back to KL with bus. The end.
