Paintball Shootout!
I have never played a game of paint ball before, and never have I thought that I would be able to experience it so soon. (I always had the thought that I would only be able to play it when I become a working individual in the future xD)
When Chun Hoe suggested we organise a game of paint ball, I was filled with excitement! Last Friday, we headed over to TT Sports Park located in Lake View, right beside the Crocodile Farm Restaurant. Our spirits were dampened at the sight of rain clouds at first, but thank God it didn’t rain! =D I made a reservation the day before, and as planned, we made it there at 2.30pm.
A total of 8 of us went, enough for a game between 4 against 4. You must be thinking we paid quite a sum of money for the paint ball, as the general perception of the game is that its a pricey game to play. Well, it wasn’t as expensive as I thought, each of us paid RM50 for everything. (Technically, the more people you have, the cheaper each have to pay)

I saw a Cat Christian! Cat Nap!
Couldn’t help not taking a picture of the kitten! xD
Anyway, without much delay, the marshal gave us a briefing session to enlighten us on the do’s and don’ts of a paint ball game. Most of us were first timers anyway (including me!), only Ivan and Edmund had the experience of taking part in paint ball games before.

The briefing by our friendly marshal! =D
… and off we went to grab our gears! Helmets and vests were vital for the game, well you could carry on without the vest, but I would recommend the vest, it’s just RM5 for the rental of it anyway. Our attention were laid on the markers (or guns), you couldn’t imagine how our eyes sparkled at the sight of those weapons of mass destruction! XD

Getting ready for some modern warfare!
I was already feeling the adrenaline rush even before the game started!

Edgar, declaring war on the opponent team!
After we were finally ready, I requested for a group picture.

The Counter Terrorists xD
L-R: Edgar, Foo Kang Wei, Edmund and Hong Khai.

The Terrorists xD
L-R: How Wei, Yours Truly, Chun Hoe and Ivan.
We decided to have a few rounds of Team Deathmatch, instead of the usual Capture the Flag. As we got ourselves mentally prepared on both ends, the marshal came over to us and offered to take another group picture of us ready for some blood!
As the marshal began the countdown, my heart raced. The adrenaline pumped like never before, and when he finally yelled ‘GAME ON!’, I dashed off to the nearest barrier according to the strategy we discussed. Taking cover as we gunned down our foes, I guess luck was on my side when I took out Edgar with a direct headshot, signifying the first kill of the game.
Our strategy worked well, within minutes, my team won the game, although I got gunned down by Foo towards the end, leaving a very apparent bruise on my waist when it was down to 2 on 1. My teammate, How Wei got the winning shot.

Hong Khai taking cover on the other end.

Yours truly, the sharpshooter. xD
My team chemistry improved after every game, it was as if we understood each other, thus being able to provide cover as soon as the other began rushing towards another barrier. I guess I really had some luck, as I managed to take out Edmund with a headshot as well.
There was only once in the game, where Edmund and I were facing off, and it resulted in us taking both of us out at the same time. I got his hand, while he blew off my brains, literally. I could feel the impact on my head gear. His hand bled, ouch! ><"
Of course, the day was filled with laughters as well, especially with a player like Chun Hoe in the team. He practically self-pawned himself in our first game, as he didn't know there was an area such as 'Out of Boundaries', so he crossed the white line, and the marshal ejected him from the game.
His second moment, which I would dare say it was the moment of the day. It was totally epic, it all began like this.

Chun Hoe taking cover from some of Edmund’s heavy attacks.
I was tasked to cover Chun Hoe, as you can see from the picture. Edmund was showering the both of us with some heavy fire. As both Chun Hoe and I returned fire at Edmund, my movement was restricted as I was the target of Hong Khai from the other side as well.
So .. Chun Hoe remained hidden from Edmund, until Edmund saw a striking red colour poking out of the barrier. He opened fire at it, and everything that happened the next moment was just plain epic.
The striking red colour, was the colour of Chun Hoe’s underwear. Chun Hoe’s butt got nailed.
He dropped his weapon, and grabbed his butt, yelling in pain while jumping at it. We immediately ceased fire, and couldn’t stop laughing after that. HAHAHA! LOL ROFLMAO!
We played all the way till 5.30pm, resting between intervals and taking toilet breaks or water breaks. I soon realised, I had the most kills and the least deaths among them. Muahahahaha, they have been finding it hard to take me out! XD
Anyway, here’s a video to add to the illustration. =D The marshal was so kind to record a video for us!
This is the time when we decided to play ‘Capture the Base’.
If you think paint ball is not painful, think again.

The bruise on How Wei’s shoulder.

The bruise on Chun Hoe’s butt.
For the record, we were not shooting at close range, infact we were never shooting at close range. All our shots were fired at at least 10 metres apart! Ouch!
Anyway, it was definitely a game worth playing. For every moment in the game, whether you’re the hunted or the hunter, the adrenaline rush was a never ending thing.
So, are you up for paint ball?
