Calendar On Your Mobile Device
Technology — By Yao Siang on February 29, 2008 at 12:20 AMSo, How Many People Actually Make Full Use Of The Calendar Feature In Their Mobile Devices? As For Me, It’s Rather An Important Feature To Have In All The Mobile Devices That I Own (Don’t Worry, I Don’t Own Many, Only 3 In Total So Far)..
For Those Who Are Studying In Taylor’s University College, I Am Sure That You All Are Familiar With The Transition Of Class After Each Lesson. This Means That, You Do Not Have A Fixed Class Room. After Each Lesson, You Will Need To Move To Another Classroom To Continue The Next Lesson. So To Prevent You From Getting “Sesat” In The College, You Can Make Use Of The Calendar Feature By Inserting All The Necessary Details Into The Calendar Of Your Mobile And Review It When Needed (I Bet You Will View It After Each Lesson To Find Out Where Is The Next Class!). It Saves Your Time For Searching For Your Timetable!
Some Mobiles, Eg. The Nokia N95 (“It’s Not One, It’s Many”) Supports Active Standby Screen Where All The Calendar Entries Of The Day Will Be Displayed On The Standby Screen. This Means That You Do Not Need To Go Through The Menus To Search For That Particular Event Or Lesson. Cool, Uh? Best Of All, There’s An Option Called The Repeat, So For Each Lesson/Event, You Only Need To Enter It Once, And Set It To Loop.

Recently, I Got My Trial Exams Timetable. The First Thing That I Did Was To “Digitalize” It Into My Mobile. Below Are A Few Screenshots From The Apple iPhone..
Setting The Date And Time.. When I Scroll With My Fingers, The Numbers Just Move Like Slot Machines!

Detailed View Of A Particular Event

This Is Only An Overview Of The Calendar. You Can Actually Do Much More Advance Stuff Than That Like Syncing Your Calendar Entries With Your Computer And Secondary Mobile. But I Am Not Going Into That. For Now, Start Using Your Mobile Calendar Wisely!
