I just received a call for a CAT interview .
but one thing I really want to know is,
can I actually use my CAT result to pursue in Degree?
because what I read that CAT is somehow equivalent to Foundation in Accounting and Finance.

hey.. im doing my CAT now in sunway college..and i dont think i wanna continue with ACCA. where else can i do my degree programme besidez sunway ? any suggestionz maybe ?

The oxford brookes is a supplementary degree for ACCA students la, it carries little weight wan. its just degree in applied accounting, if thats the route you wish to take, better still take a PROPER degree.

Hello Beven,

First of all, after 4 years of being an ACCA student, I can confidently conclude that how you do in your SPM doesn’t affect how you will do in ACCA. I have friends who are straight A1 students failing ACCA papers, but I have friends who are mediocre in SPM passing all their ACCA papers at 1st attempt.

I had no accounts experience back in SPM as well, so that is not an issue. Perhaps only need abit more brushing up and understanding, but thats just about it.

There won’t be too complex formulas in the syllabus, everything is really doable. Finance papers has those formulas but really, its straightforward and understandable.

I think its more about luck also la, in the exams. There are those who study till ‘kee siao’ and those who are last minute pushers. So, don’t worry too much abt it. Paying attention in classes help too.

Hi Nicholas…Okay,i was just browsing through your blog post about ACCA…Boy,do i have question to ask…

First,is ACCA really that tough? I have been reading post that says it is TOUGH…I am a Pure Science Stream Student,but am not taking Accounts in SPM…My Maths is okay,but the same can’t be said for my Add Maths…I’m a,okay student,not the best,neither am the worst…

i)Will not taking Accounts in SPM affect my Acca studies?
ii)Will there be those COMPLEX Maths formula in Acca studies?
iii)I heard is tough,but with consistent effort,you can do it…What does the consistent effort mean? Hmmph? Does it mean like,study till Kee Siao?
iv)Do you have to be like,those GOOD students to like get your acca? Hmmph?

You have to check with the various universities though, but one I know of, the Lancaster programme in Sunway University do accept the CAT qualification.

hi! if let say i wanna quit acca (i’m now in part 2) and opt for a degree program..is there any college that have a link from CAT qualification to a degree? or do i still have to start from diploma?
